Pakistani army captain helps her sister
Wednesday December 26, 2007 10:47:54 AMSadia Bibi is a 20 year old with a congenital heart defect who needed repair of her mitral valve. Sadia received her operation during our medical mission trip to Pakistan in December 2007. Saida's sister, Captain Nisa Shafwqat, works in the adult side of the intensive care unit of the hospital. One day after Sadia's surgery, her sister was not working and came to the pediatric unit as a visitor. The unit became very busy and Captain Shafwqat stayed overnight as a nurse looking after her sister.
Sadia went home four days after her surgery and is doing great. She and her sister are very happy with Sadia's operative result.
