Comedy For A Cause
Thursday August 02, 2007 10:16:20 PMA crowd of nearly 100 people packed Comedy TN for "Comedy for a Cause" benefiting ICHF on August 2, 2007. Local comic Jeff White opened the show with tales of teaching in a Memphis City school, his first year of marriage ,and growing up "dorkk". White concluded with songs, then introduced the headline performer, Vince Morris.
Vince Morris is a nationally known comedian and has appeared on television shows such as "Tough Crowd" with Colin Quinn, The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Comedy Central's Premium Blend and Sex and the City. Morris had everyone laughing with stories of living in Los Angeles, experiences with his best friend Steve, and observations of life in Memphis. He remarked, "It is so unbelievably hot in Memphis! I mean, really, why do you live here? It's so hot that when I stepped off the plane, I instantly passed out." Morris also donated a portion of that night's DVD sales to ICHF. Our hat is off to Vince!
Co-owner, John Marks remarked, "It's not just about raising moeny. It's about having a good laugh while helping kids and spreadint he word about the foundation."
