A Taste of Caribe fundraiser features island sounds, sips and smokes
Jason jackson, a guest at "Taste of Caribe," relaxed with a stogie on the patio at Askew Nixon Ferguson Architects.
"I can only enjoy this for the next couple of seconds," he said as raindrops began to fall. People took cover on the porch and continued to smoke their cigars at the recent benefit for the International Children's Heart Foundation.
Carribean food, Bacardi rum and music by the Los Cantadores were also featured at the event presented by ProCigars from the Dominican Republic. Party goers included Dr. William Novick, ICHF founder.
"More than $65,000 was raised," said Sandy McMahan, the foundation's administrative director.
Guests left with gift bags containing tiny bottles of Barcardi and cigar boxes full of premium smokes.
